At the HackIT 2024 hackathon, our four-person team built TelePrase, a game controlled using brain activity.

A BrainLink headset measured the player's attention and meditation levels, which were translated into movement in the game. Instead of pressing buttons, the player had to change their mental state to control a flying pig, collect points, and avoid obstacles.

I built the game in Python with Pygame and integrated it with the BrainLink data provided by our team's interface. We also created a keyboard-controlled version so the game could be demonstrated without the headset.

By the end of the hackathon, we had a working prototype. The idea was partly accessibility-focused, since the game could be controlled without traditional physical input, but it was also an experiment in whether a game could encourage players to consciously control their attention and relaxation.
